Daily Scripture

So, I clicked on and just sat and stared at the page. Is this writer's block? How can it be writer's block when you haven't even been writing?! Anyway, I thought it was about time to get back in gear on this blog. It's been a month since I wrote anything. I was so excited when I first thought about blogging and then almost immediately went into making YouTube videos and that just took over. I think this is what happened....When I first thought about blogging I thought it would be about makeup. Well I only did one blog about makeup, got no response, and started blogging about the Lord. That is when it happened...that was what I was supposed to write about. Then I got into YouTube. Well, guess what, most of my videos are about makeup. I only do one video a week about the lessons the Lord is teaching me. I think what is happening is that I am putting my "wants" ahead of what He wants. Hmmmm. So, I think what I need to do is start blogging again and this time I want to use this forum for Him. My goal is to do a short blog, hopefully each day, with a quick lesson that He has taught me or a scripture that He has put on my heart. I'm hoping that this will keep me more focused on Him and hopefully if anyone is out there reading this it will bless you too. So with that being said, my scripture for today is:

Matthew 22:34-40
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

The Daily Battle

The Daily Battle

Everyday is a new day; a new day filled with new things, beautiful things, beautiful people, new experiences, and new battles. Even though we would like every new day to be positive, uplifting, nothing but perfect, it's not. We all struggle. We all have battles. Some are internal, some are external. But one thing is for sure, we all have them. None of us can escape life without some form of battle in our life.

Lately I have been dealing with an emotional struggle. It seems as though my emotions are on overload and are just accentuated. Things that might not have bothered me in the past will just eat at me throughout the day. Have you ever noticed when you are going through something like this, though, that it's never the good emotions that are taking over? Maybe good emotions is not the correct term. I mean, you are not overwhelmed with happiness, right? You get overwhelmed with sadness or anger. That's what I mean about good vs. bad. In reality, all our emotions are good. Everything good comes from God above and He gave us emotions so they are all good. They are here to let us enjoy things, feel things, experience things, and warn us of dangers, etc.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

I have found that I am not the only one, lately, who seems to be going through such an emotional struggle. I have talked with a few dear friends that also are going through this same type of thing. I believe we are going through a spiritual battle. The bible tells us we have spiritual battles:

Ephesians 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

But the Bible also tells us that we are not alone and that God prevails. People often say, "God will not give you more than you can bear". But the Bible says:

13 For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.

This is from the Amplified Version so there is a little more explanation following the words, but what is most important here is that God will provide the way out. He IS the means, He IS the way out, He IS our escape. See, God is not our crutch, He doesn't just hold us up and support us through our struggles, GOD is our rescuer. He is the one that walks with us through the struggle, then holds us tight when it becomes what we perceive as too difficult, and finally carries us through at the end when we are just too exhausted to fight anymore.

Don't give up my friends. Know that whatever battles you are going through are temporary and that He is right there with you through this journey. Don't let go of Him...He will never let go of you!!

Be blessed my friends!!
